Saanich Living at Its Best
The University Heights Shopping Centre combines 200,000 sq ft of commercial space with 593 rental housing units catering to students in Saanich, Victoria. The inclusion of significant public space shaped the building forms, with the creation of a new retail High Street and public park over the retail podium. Plazas feature Indigenous art by Marianne Nicolson. Seismic upgrades were performed on a portion of existing parkade, and a daycare with rooftop outdoor play space is integrated into the design, with WA also providing the interior fit out.
