Aya Ichihara

Aya has been working in architecture for nearly two decades, including 16 years at WA Architects and additional work in Montreal and Mexico.  Early in her career, she worked across all stages of projects, from conceptual design through construction, and for the past ten years, she has focused primarily on Construction Administration, starting with commercial tenant improvement projects and more recently mixed-use multi-family residential developments. She enjoys finding practical solutions within constraints, keeping teams coordinated, and creating spaces that feel both functional and thoughtful. Architecture drew her in because it blends craft, math, and aesthetics.

She works at WA because it’s the kind of place where everyone is all in — passionate, committed, and yes, occasionally emotional about a perfectly aligned corner.
